When will I get married? — reading marriage yoga in the kundli
Marriage timing is one of the most asked questions, and one of the most fear-sold. Here is what the classical texts actually look at, in plain words.
1. The 7th house and its lord
The 7th house is the partner and partnership. Its sign, the planets in it and the placement of its lord describe the relationship; the 2nd (family) and 11th (fulfilment of wishes) houses support the event.
2. Venus — and Jupiter in a woman's chart
Venus is the karaka of marriage. In a woman's chart the tradition also reads Jupiter for the husband. Their strength and placement add to what the 7th house shows.
3. The navamsha (D9)
The navamsha is the classical chart for marriage and the inner strength of planets. Its 7th house and lord are read alongside the birth chart.
Dasha first, gochar second
Classical astrologers time an event mainly by the Vimshottari dasha: the mahadasha, antardasha and pratyantar of planets linked to the house in question. Gochar (the transit of Jupiter and Saturn over that house, its lord or the Moon) then narrows the years to months. A good transit without a supporting dasha is read as a smaller opening; both together as a clearer one.
About Manglik and delay
Mars in certain houses is called Manglik, and the texts list many conditions that cancel it — it is a matching consideration, not a verdict. Saturn's link with the 7th is read as maturity and a later, steadier timing, not as a denial. No costly remedy is needed to read your chart.
How AstroVedhic answers this
Our engine reads your whole chart — lagna, houses, lords, karakas, the running dasha down to pratyantar and the transits — on NASA JPL data. An answer starts with what is running now, then the better months of the next twelve, with the reason behind them. The dates come from the calculation, never from the AI that words the answer.
Questions
- Does kundli matching tell when marriage will happen?
- No. Milan (the 36 gunas) compares two charts for compatibility; the timing comes from each person's own dasha and transits.
- Is being Manglik a problem for marriage?
- It is one point the tradition checks when matching, and many charts have it cancelled. It should never be a reason for fear; read it together with the whole chart.
- Can I check this without an exact birth time?
- Partly. Without the time the lagna and the dasha dates are uncertain, so the houses are counted from the Moon sign and only the broad picture is read. A birth time checked against a few past events makes the months much sharper — the app has such a check.
